Tranquil Waterscape Designs
worked with Smith Turf & Irrigation and numerous other
contractors to help construct Richard Petty's personal pond
at his home, along with the creation of Victory Falls (seen
below) located at the Victory Junction Gang Camp. Victory
Falls, the massive waterfall that now flows into the camp’s
pond, was a four-day labor of love for volunteers from
around the country who contributed their time, money and
skills for some very special children.
The dramatic waterfall, which
is over 100 feet long and incorporates over 300 tons of
locally excavated stone and water feature equipment, united
some of the nation’s most qualified Certified Aquascape
Contractors. Each volunteer worked night and day to complete
a task that initially seemed impossible. The result of
everyone’s hard work was more spectacular than anyone could
have originally imagined. Thanks to everyone’s dedication,
the camp now has an exciting waterfall that is sure to
provide enjoyment for the campers for years to come.
After creating a water
feature on Mr. Petty’s property earlier this year, STI
jumped at the opportunity to construct another one-of-a-kind
feature for the camp, founded and operated by NASCAR driver
Kyle Petty and his wife, Pattie. The Pettys were excited at
the prospect of increasing the beauty of the camp while also
providing a unique experience for the children.
Victory Junction Gang Camp, located in Randleman, N.C.,
provides a year round inspirational and entertaining camp
experience for children facing chronic medical conditions
and serious illnesses. It was started by the Petty family in
2004 to honor their late son Adam.
